About our work

The Tashi Nyima Foundation is a not-for-profit humanitarian organization whose programs confront the enormous challenges facing rural Tibetans today.

These challenges include access to a quality education and basic healthcare, as well as a lack of economic opportunities that extend beyond simple subsistence farming and husbandry.

Our goal is to promote and support the natural ability of the people so as to develop sustainable solutions. We develop long-term opportunities for the people in the communities to provide for their families and to survive in a rapidly changing world.

Our success hinges on our close ties to the communities we work with.

Our current projects include:

• A one-room elementary schoolhouse - The Dawa Doan Mei School
• Merit-based scholarships for secondary schooling
• Distribution of clothing and shoes
• Basic health training/ distribution of vitamins for children and pregnant mothers
